Class 1 "Scale"

We can look at Limerick at different scales.



Scale is a ratio and therefore drawings can be done to accurate measurements.

At 1:50 the drawing is 50 times smaller than real life
At 1:20 the drawing is 20 times smaller than real life
At 1:5 the drawing is 5 times smaller than real life




At 1:20 models become pieces of furniture with the form providing areas to sit, store objects, rest etc.


At 1:50 the models become buildings with the openings turning into doors and windows, in walls, floors and ceilings.
