Class 3 "Structure- Geodesic Dome"

The Montreal Biosphère, formerly the American Pavilion of Expo 67, by R. Buckminster Fuller, on Île Sainte-Hélène, Montreal, Canada

Geodesic Domes take advantage of the structural strength of the triangle to create a curved enclosed space.

Buckminster Fuller was one of the main pioneers of this structure.

Here are some websites on this type of structure

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geodesic_dome

Although we did not have much luck with creating our own dome in class, although we now have a btter idea of the structural stability of newspaper, I enclose the link for ye to try at home. We would recommend three to four pages per strut after our experiment in class.
